Karen was born June 27, 1952 in Lake City, Iowa to Walter and Bernice Pudenz. She was raised in Rose Creek, Minnesota and graduated from Rose Creek High School. On April 29, 1972, she married Harold M. Schlichter from Rose Creek, Minnesota. They were married for 45 years and had two children; a daughter, Michele; and a son, Brandon. She worked for Mayo Clinic Health Systems for 40 years, her last position as Appointment Coordinator in Gynecology, retiring December 31, 2014. Karen was a loving wife and mother, caring friend and compassionate person. She spent her time, love, and energy with family, cooking, going to soccer games, camping and enjoying her grandchildren. She was the original “Soccer Mom”. Karen’s warmth and friendship has touched many lives and created many lasting memories that will be cherished. She is survived by her husband, Harold Schlichter of Rochester; two children, Michele (Anthony) Keller of Elgin, MN, and Brandon of Fort Collins, CO; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kaylee; siblings, Mary Lee (Terry) Kueper of Rochester; Janet (Ron) Henry of Zumbrota; Glen (Linda) Pudenz of New Lisbon, WI; Jay (Lisa) Pudenz of Rose Creek, MN; in-laws, Robert Walerak of Rose Creek, MN; and Therese Pudenz of West Salem, WI; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Bernice Pudenz; and siblings, Dale Pudenz and Rosanne (Pudenz) Walerak. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. There will be a private burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Rose Creek, MN at a later date. |

Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry B. Karhoff at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Church. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery at Breda. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, where the faculty and student body of St. Lawrence School will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. Monday. The parish rosary at 8 p.m. Monday will be followed by a scriptural prayer service at 8:45. Mr. Stork, son of Henry and Helen Julich Stork, was born at Breda July 27, 1914, and most of his life was spent in the Breda area. He farmed one-half mile west of Breda and continued to farm after moving to Carroll in 1967, until retiring because of his health two years ago. He married Mary Ann Grabner at St. Bernard's Church in Breda Aug. 25, 1942, with the late Rev. E. L. Schleyer officiating at the ceremony. He was a member of St. Lawrence Church. He is survived by his wife, 17 children, 18 grandchildren and 11 brothers and sisters. The children are Alan, Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Lappe, Gordon, Matt Jr., Michele, Kenneth, Sandra and Henry, all of Carroll; T.Sgt. Robert L., with the Air Force in Guam; Donald, Thomas and William of Breda; Phyllis of Des Moines, Mrs. Gene (Susan) Love of Ames, Mrs. Keith (Pat) Miller of Dow City, Margaret of Ames and Mary of Ankeny. She was born May 16, 1950, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital to Mathias and Mary Ann (Grabner) Stork. Ruth graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School. Ruth Stork was married to Fred L Lappe on January 3, 1970, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. They had four children. Ruth enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening, and trips to the casino with a very good girlfriend. Above all Ruth enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; Mathias and Mary Ann Stork, her eldest son; Christopher Lee Lappe, her brother Kenneth Stork. She is survived by her husband Fred of Auburn, 3 sons, Jeff (Tina) Lappe of Milford, Brian Lappe of Coal City, Illinois, and Cory (Mary) Lappe of Lapeer, Michigan. 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Patricia died on October 25, 2020, at the age of 69 years, one month and 27 days in Denison, Iowa. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; two siblings, Ruth Lappe and Kenneth Stork; and two nephews, Christopher Lappe and Christopher Love.
